Who the hell gets a parking ticket outside their own bloody house on a Saturday morning?
Well me, apparently.

The one morning I sort out a lie-in as well. I never normally park on that spot, but 3am is not a time to leaving your car a quarter of a mile away.

Yet another thing to chew into the already extremely tight January budget. And 19 days to go before next payday. Hmph.

The two dragons that got damaged after a vicious assault last year by my camping equipment have just been declared beyond repair.

After a tussle with the bottle of superglue, which defended itself with a seal over the nozzle, causing some to get stuck to my fingers (but not the fingers together thankfully), the stuff turned out to be useless on the dragons' breaks.

In addition, further damage was found to the base of the larger dragon, meaning that it would have been a difficult anyway.

They are survived by their biggest brother, the Keeper of The Letter-Opener, and The Grim Reaper (funny that).

Another Cinema Trip

Enough people have asked me about going to the cinema this weekend that I may as well simply organise another trip. A few of you are already aware, but we're looking at Saturday evening, and it seems to be a straight choice between Pan's Labyrinth and Happy Feet. I shall leave this one to democracy, I think, but let me know by Friday early evening so that booking can take place.

Re: Casino Royale

The movie kicked serious ass.

Daniel Craig is a damned good Bond, and this was undoubtedly the best I've seen of Judi Dench as 'M'.
There was an edge to this that hasn't been around since I would say, the Connery (or arguably Dalton) era and the set-pieces really contemporised the movie. And the obvious CGI was largely kept to the title credits. I will be seeing this again.

This year I've been busy!

Last month I bought porn for

belisarius_534 (-10 points). In August I helped

nattydreadi see the light (8 points). Last Sunday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). Last Saturday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole

marlwolf's purse (30 points). In November I didn't flush (-1 points).

Overall, I've been nice (19 points). For Christmas I deserve a new bike!

Jobhunting Quickie

Distinctly unimpressed that the agency who phoned me up about the fantasy writer job, after much pissing about, could not be arsed telling me that they weren't interested, which I only inferred by checking the company's site and seeing that the job is no longer advertised.

Considerably more impressed with the speed I belted out a quite good cover letter last night before bed for another job that has taken my interest.

Also contacted MSIM for feedback on the presenter post I didn't make the cut for.

Checked Guardian site; nothing particularly suitable for me, but made the odd, 'hmm...' stop whilst looking...
